Up close and personal
Every Greek that has gone to school has at least once in his/her life participated in a school parade and every Greek that has kids, has at least once in his/her life attended a school parade. The following images have been taken with a Sigma 10-20mm lens at 10mm, during the school parade which took place on the 25th of March 2011.

Can I ask you why you chose the wide angle?
It is a great series. I love how the wide angle enhanced the sense of action and solemnity in a few scenes, and how it emphasized proportions, moods, contrasts in all of them. My most favoured are 9, 17, 20, 23 and 7.
Shooting street with a 10mm wide angle is an awesome experience! It puts you right into the action! All the above shots are totally uncropped. Imagine the distance of my lens in let’s say “Up close and personal”. It’s almost less than 30cm
The funny thing is that with such a wide angle lens all my subjects didn’t even know I was shooting them, they thought I was aiming somewhere ahead of them! This of course applies only in very crowded places and that’s why i chose this lens for this event. I never had so much fun, street shooting a parade!
great perspectives, these wide angle shots!
Thank you Andreas!
Shadow Island – just brilliant! A really, really lovely shot!
thank you Anja! it’s one of my favorites too!
